Milady realizes that it's Sylvie, and Athos asks what Milady has done to her. As a riot breaks out, the Musketeers arrive and fire into the air, and Aramis sees the flyers. He warns that they must tell Louis after they have the Spanish terms, as it is too dangerous to proceed without the King's knowledge. Treville says he will spare the Spanish prisoners but not by Royal Assent as he agrees to the men being exchanged for Aramis. He pleads that he's French and all he did was steal bread whilst the Spanish are set free. However she stabbed him with a poisoned needle and left him for dead. Treville leaves with Musketeers and says that the release must not be given royal assent so he'll do it himself.

To prove Athos' innocence Porthos and Aramis enlist the aid of d'Artagnan in recovering letters stolen from the King's messengers by the Red Guard claiming to be Athos. She wanted to give the crown a good reputation by helping the poor but Louis didn't want that.
Treville warns her that she isn't the Regent yet, and she may have cost Aramis his life. At the printing press, Sylvie has Rochelle distribute the new flyers across Paris. At the end Lorraine agrees to a pact with the regent leading to Gaston's arrest. He has the backing of the Duke of Lorraine Robert Glenister who wants the prisoners in his hands and Aramis killed. Louis speaks up from his bed and demands to know what's going on. Back at the village they met another girl named Elodie Lily Loveless who was heavily pregnant and Porthos seemed quite taken by her.
Meanwhile Milady has reconnected with Athos, but it soon becomes apparent that their relationship has run its course and will never be functional. Aramis finally accepts his true calling as a Musketeer and rejoins his brothers-in-arms in Paris. Rochefort and the Spanish Ambassador's double dealings come to a head with the death of Rochefort's whore; and then of the ambassador at Milady's hand with Treville paying the price for failing to protect the ambassador. Aramis hangs from a post and watches his rosary burn. Athos, Porthos and D'Artagnan pressure Bonnaire into leading them to the diamonds' buyers to recover them. Lucien visits Aramis, who warns that Anne won't give him whatever he asks of her. He whispers that they will keep the strokes light if she names Constance as her conspirator, and Sylvie warns him that there is no going back for him. They were also worried about Athos who was still carrying injuries after Grimaud assaulted him. They had a passionate love affair, and it all went to shit due to their own actions.
Treville wakes up and discovers that Louis is gone. With the king taking to his bed as dying the queen asks Aramis to help broker a peace treaty with her brother, the Spanish king and he sets out to meet the ambassador but is captured by Grimaud. After a moment, Athos releases Milady and goes, and Milady says that Sylvie safe. Among the many highlights of this episode was the return of as Milady. Constance and the cadets take provisions to the refugee camp, and Sylvie thanks her for her help. D'Artagnan tells Athos that Lucien is there with six men, and Athos insists that it's their chance over Porthos' objections.
